The ATP tour visited Dubai for the first time in 1993 and since then the tournament has won the ATP World Tour 500 award 10 times in 11 years (2003-06, 2008-13).
The top stars are always in attendance, with many pushing for the tournament to be awarded ATP 1000 status.
The countdown to the much anticipated 2019 Championships has begun, as Dubai gets set to once again welcome the world’s best players.
Roberto Bautista Agut beat 2nd seed Lucas Pouille, win the 2018 Championship. He is the 4th Spaniard to win the tournament after Alex Corretja, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Rafael Nadal.
The 2019 competition should follow previous years’ formats with the WTA tournament being from Feb 18th to 25th and the ATP tournament from Feb 25th to March 2nd.*
