Barcelona Open Tennis 2019
The Barcelona Open is staged at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899, the oldest tennis club in Spain. It is Spain’s second most important tennis tournament on the ATP tour. It is high up on Barcelona’s social calendar and is second only to the Madrid Open.
Spaniards had won 11 straight trophies until Kei Nishikori ended the streak in 2014 and then repeated his triumph in 2015. In 2016 Rafa Nadal denied Nishikori his hat trick, the title stayed in Spain in 2017, as Nadal beat Dominic Thiem, and in 2018, he won his 11th title beating Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-2,6-1.
